2002 - 2017
CaseIntel Corporation
- Acted as the architect for NetGIS, an application for electric utilities that maps their complex redundant downtown electrical distribution networks using AutoCAD and Oracle Spatial and Graph.
- Managed NetGIS product development. Developed complex PL/SQL and Java Oracle applications and used Oracle Spatial, Network, Graph, Oracle AQ, Java, and Native XML in the database and CQN.
- Built an Oracle Native XML-based CIM data hub (IEC 61968-100 compliant) for electric utilities to support IEC 61968 and 61970 standard CIM requests, transactions, and events.
- Developed CaseIntel, a criminal intelligence data mining system based on Oracle. Used a data lake to extract models of criminal networks, inter and intra-case linkages between suspects, phones, weapons, vehicles, and communication records.
- Created multiple business intelligence applications for the maintenance and operations of electrical distribution equipment. Facilitated predictive and preventative maintenance planning and equipment fault analysis.
- Designed an Oracle Streams-based memory replication architecture and system for an automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) to support cache coherence of an application object cache across Oracle MAA architecture utilizing Oracle RAC.
- Implemented dashboards using Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI Publisher, and OBIEE for utility network management.
- Conducted Oracle database security hardening. Worked with Morpho Trak to modify the minimum baseline security standard (MBSS) AFIS in support of FBI and DHS implementations to achieve DoD STIG and DHS secure configuration standards.
- Architected and implemented Oracle RAC and Active Data Guard (MAA) distributed platforms for Hexagon Intergraph outage management systems at several US-based utilities.
- Completed many setups, administration, and tuning consulting engagements using Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM, and Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ) on Windows, Linux, HP, Sun, IBM, and VM. Versions 6-19c.

Project History
NetGIS Utility Distribution Mapping
The product utilized AutoCAD on the front end, with an Oracle Spatial and Graph database to manage model semantics, spatial data, electrical connectivity, network analysis, equipment data, etc. This solved a critical need for the electric utility distribution management space, as existing systems could not adequately manage redundant downtown core networks. I was a principal architect and development manager for CaseIntel NetGIS.
Cloud Migration
I built a multi-cloud, multi-cluster Rancher Kubernetes platform for an MSP to enable their cloud migration. Assisted development teams in re-architecting their applications to micro-service-based architecture.
Electric Utility XML Data Interchange Hub
I built a data interchange hub for utilities employing IEC 61968 and 61970 standard CIM requests, transactions, and events. I also utilized Oracle Native XML processing and Oracle AQ to enable rapid integration with heterogeneous systems.
CaseIntel Criminal Intelligence System
A case management and data mining system for law enforcement to manage and coordinate investigative activity among detectives across divisions. I automated case management workflow and, through link analysis and data mining, uncovered and modeled criminal networks and inter and intra-case linkages between suspects, phones, weapons, vehicles, and communication records.
Beverage Sales Data Warehouse
I built a grocery shelf space/coupon/retail sales data warehouse for Anheuser-Busch. I also supported dimensional analysis of ad and coupon activity and sales to identify causal factors and patterns in US and international markets.
Aerospace Factory Data Hub
I architected and managed the development of a data hub for the interchange of shop floor control data, manufacturing process plans, changes, and rework data for the sheet metal factory of a major aerospace manufacturer.
I then implemented it in Oracle. It provided a data interchange hub for Baan manufacturing apps and a wide array of in-house applications.
