Experience
Online Proctored Exam Panel
We built the web apps with React and used Vonage APIs for p2p video. We used WebSockets to communicate live actions, such as start exam, pause exam, talk to a specific student, get the status of progress for a specific student, and send a warning to a specific student. I also built a Chrome extension to make video and audio permission easy and block the ability to open other tabs when the exam is in progress.
We built the entire solution in less than two months. At its peak, it handled 10,000 exams in a day, and a single proctor could handle a batch of 30-35 students. This exam platform reduced our operating costs and maintained our subscribers' confidence that all the restrictions made it a fair exam.
