Bio

Muhammad has a PhD in physics (photonics) from XLIM, University of Limoges, France. During his thesis, he worked to build an experimental platform for in-fiber laser cooling. He did postdoctoral work at PhLAM, University of Lille, France, researching instabilities in the Magneto Optical Trap (MOT) for cesium (Cs). Muhammad has also done postdoctoral research at the Institute of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland.

Work Experience

Postdoctoral Researcher

2022 - 2023
Institute of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Poland
  • Supervised a PhD student in his research work. He was working on the preparation of a super radiant source of strontium (Sr) atoms. I helped and supervised him in identifying the issues in his setup so he could solve them promptly.
  • Optimized the laser system and employed frequency doubling stages to generate a 390 nm laser for the setup.
  • Prepared the optical setup for laser cooling and trapping of strontium (Sr) atoms. I detected the leak in the ultra-high vacuum (UHV) setup and managed the design of anti-Helmholtz coils.
Focus areas: Physics, Optics, Research

Postdoctoral Researcher

2019 - 2020
Laboratoire de Physique des Lasers Atomes et Molécules (PhLAM), University of Lille, France
  • Started work on several experiments with a few problems, including optimization of laser systems, UHV, and anti-Helmholtz coils. I fixed all these problems in a very short time.
  • Generated the MOT for cesium (Cs) and started to optimize the experiment.
  • Revisited the Vlasov-Fokker-Planck model and made corrections.
Focus areas: Spectroscopy, Laser Spectroscopy
