Project History
Mobile Onboarding Redesign
- £42.1 Million — Projected 5-year NPV (Modelled)
- 5-stage — Gated Roadmap from Discovery to Scale
A UK retail bank with 11+ million app users wanted a feature to deepen engagement and create measurable value. App use was mostly balance checks, credit losses came from customers showing early financial stress, and challengers were winning deposits. The bank also needed evidence of good outcomes under FCA Consumer Duty. I was asked to propose and justify a feature for next year’s roadmap.
I scored three options on revenue, time to value, and risk and regulatory fit. I designed a 0-1,000 score across savings, spending, and debt and credit, with a 3-step plan and capped rewards. I defined the MVP and requirements, built a clickable prototype, and planned GTM: a 5-stage gated roadmap with a control-group pilot and a 5-year P&L.
I delivered a pitch deck, business case, roadmap, and prototype. I modelled a £42.1 million 5-year NPV with year-2 payback, capping downside risk at a £4.5 million pilot. I presented it to a VP-level panel in Toptal’s PM screening.
CMP Development and Deployment
- **50% ** — Faster SIM and Device Activation
- **60% ** — Increase in Customer Self-service
- 100% — Of SIMs and Devices Managed on One Platform
- 80% — Faster Release Cycle
A UK IoT connectivity provider managed SIMs and devices across fragmented tools. Activation was slow and manual, customers relied on support for routine tasks such as provisioning and diagnostics, and long release cycles held back new features. The business needed a single connectivity management platform (CMP) that customers could run themselves and that the team could improve quickly.
I led discovery with customers and support teams to map activation and service pain points, then defined the CMP vision, roadmap and MVP. I prioritized self-service SIM activation, device management and usage visibility, and moved delivery to Agile sprints with automated testing and CI/CD. I migrated all SIMs and devices onto the platform and iterated from customer feedback and usage data.
I delivered a single CMP managing 100% of SIMs and devices. Activation became 50% faster, customer self-service rose 60%, and releases shipped 80% faster, cutting support load and speeding up new features for customers.
New eSIM Product Development
- 1 — New SIM Product Launched to Market
- 20% — Increase in SIM Revenue
- 10 — New Mobile Networks Covered
An IoT connectivity provider needed a new SIM product to meet growing customer demand and compete in a crowded market. The existing range no longer fitted customers’ coverage, reliability, and cost needs, which limited new deals and slowed SIM revenue growth. The business needed a multi-network product that could be built with partners and enter the market quickly.
I led discovery with customers, sales, and engineering to define the target use cases and requirements. I wrote the product specification, set pricing and positioning, and worked with network partners to bring 10 networks onto the SIM, plus testing and certification. I then coordinated the go-to-market launch with sales and marketing, and refined the offer from customer feedback.
Launched a new multi-network SIM covering 10 networks, growing SIM revenue by 20%. Wider coverage and resilience broadened the product range, opened new customer opportunities. and gave sales a more competitive offer.
