Front-end Web Developer in Seattle, WA, United States

Member since June 4, 2020
Passionate about the web, Avram's been working as a front-end developer for several years. Where Avram’s value to a project is most evident is in his ease in collaborating with designers to bring their designs to life and in developing complex single-page apps in React and Redux. However, recently, he’s also been intrigued in the potential of Svelte and Sapper to combine server-side with client-side rendering. When you work with Avram, you can expect to receive quality code delivered on time.

Experience

  • Nestlé's GoodNes Alexa Skill with Accompanying Website
    https://www.mobiquity.com/our-work/bringing-voice-plus-to-the-kitchen

I built an Amazon Alexa skill for Nestlé that lets users browse through and follow recipes with their voice. It also has an accompanying website which can be loaded that updates based on the voice commands given to Alexa. Users can browse recipes, navigate through a recipe's directions, and watch instructive videos all using their voice so their hands are free to work in the kitchen.

  • Vaccine Refrigerator Monitoring Web App
    https://www.intellectualventures.com/what-we-do/global-good-fund

This project was built for Global Good, a sub-organization within Intellectual Ventures. They needed a better method of monitoring the temperature fluctuations of vaccine refrigerators in various African countries.

The web app was built in React, Redux, and uses MapBox for displaying a map of the country. The user can zoom in and out of the map to see average temperature fluctuations layered over the different states and regions. Temperature data is also provided in a table and a chart to show changes over time.

  • Operations Web App
    https://www.flexe.com

I was responsible for creating a new web app for the operations team at Flexe, an online marketplace for warehouse space. The current system was built in Ruby on Rails and consisted of a dozen or more different pages that were automatically generated from database tables. Creating new warehouse reservations with the old process was slow, tedious, and error-prone.

I created the new web app using React on the front end, and Node.js/Express.js on the back end. The Express.js app would act as a middle layer between the front end and the Ruby on Rails app. I also wrote new API endpoints in the Ruby on Rails app that returned JSON for the middle layer.
