The most amazing...

...project I've worked on was when I optimized the front-end for a huge codebase to a responsive front end by myself in three months.

Employment

  • Web Developer | Product | UX

    2016 - PRESENT
    Popularium
    • Built the entire front-end from the ground up.
    • Developed a set of standards and best practices for the front-end.
    • Came up with the analytics and UX testing strategy.
    • Wireframed, brainstormed, and developed specifications for new UI features.
    • Identified UX concerns, implemented tests, and evaluated the findings to optimize the UI/UX.
Technologies: Sass, Git, jQuery, ZURB Foundation, CSS3, HTML5, Django
  • Front-end Developer

    2016 - 2016
    Gigmor
    • Joined the team part-time, and got through a major backlog of bugs and product improvements.
    • Audited the codebase, and noticed many major flaws. After years of using bad contract developers, they had a Frankenstein monster. I came up with a strategy for improving the site's code and design.
    • Started by deleting unused views and methods and all coordinating stylesheets and scripts.
    • Consolidated the JavaScript and SCSS files to be easier to slice and dice.
    • Cleaned up the Blade files, reorganized the structure, and implemented a new, cleaner markup.
    • Converted the entire site to Bootstrap with an even newer design.
    • Reorganized and rewrote much of the JavaScript using Browserify.
Technologies: HTML, CSS, jQuery, Browserify, Git, Bootstrap, Sass, Blade, Laravel, PHP
  • Front-end Developer

    2013 - 2016
    CrowdRise
    • Came up with strategy for converting the old codebase to be responsive using Foundation.
    • Implemented a solo large design refresh to start the responsive conversion process.
    • Worked closely with design and product management to streamline UX flows.
    • Strategized and developed a major new project for the company, that ended up becoming 40% of company revenue after 12 months.
    • Developed the global style guide and the UI library.
Technologies: Sass, Git, CodeIgniter, PHP, CSS, HTML
  • Front-end Developer

    2013 - 2014

    • Crafted several international email campaigns for major makeup companies.
    • Built a responsive app for sporting events using HTML/CSS, Sass, jQuery, and JavaScript.

Experience

  • Popularium (Development)

I work at Popularium as a front-end developer, UX designer, and acquisitions editor. I developed the front-end of the site with Django, HTML/CSS, Sass, Foundation, Git, Vagrant, Gulp, jQuery, and JavaScript. I also created the wireframes or designs for many of the UX flows and features.

  • Karma Automotive (Development)
    https://www.karmaautomotive.com/reverogt

I developed the homepage, Karma GT page, Revero GT page, and Vision Car page.

  • Waldorf Astoria Unforgettable Stories (Development)
    http://waldorfastoria3.hilton.com/rs/unforgettable-stories/?cid=OM,WA,UnforgettableStories,Aux,ReadNow

I developed this project for Waldorf Astoria/Hilton via Reconstrukt. It uses HTML/CSS, Skrollr, jQuery, and JavaScript.

  • CrowdRise (Development)
    https://www.crowdrise.com/

I worked here for three years—on most of the pages and features of the site, including setting up the front-end architecture which is depended on still by the website. It wasn't responsive when I got there, so that was my biggest priority. For this project, I used Foundation, Gulp, Sass, HTML/CSS, PHP, CodeIgniter, and Git/SVN.

  • Gigmor (Development)

I converted this company's old, bloated codebase into a leaner, meaner one. I made it responsive and more efficient using PHP, Laravel, Blade, Bootstrap, and HTML/CSS/jQuery/JavaScript.

  • Case Partners (Development)

I designed and implemented this site in WordPress, HTML/CSS, and jQuery.
