Diagnostic Logging Center
While at Bridgewater Associates, I created a centralized system for creating, managing and running diagnostics on pre-generated reporting data. The company placed an extremely high emphasis on reporting accuracy and so there were many human analysts in the loop to review and check data before it could be delivered to a client in a report. As the reporting process became more automated there was a need for a way for the analysts to describe new diagnostics that could be easily added to the automated workflow. The system I built combined C#, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Excel to provide an interface for the analysts to define these diagnostics, for the diagnostics to be scheduled during the nightly data generation process, for a diagnostic failure to notify the appropriate analyst, for the success to enable automatic report generation and delivery, and for the analysts to view the success and failure rate of different diagnostics across different portfolios over time.
