Mobile Application Developer
TrueFire
- Developed a native audio and video playback app from scratch for iOS. The custom video player could handle .hls streaming files as well as downloaded .mp4 files for offline playback. Eventually took over the native Android app to match iOS.
- Built a tool for iOS and Android that played an interchangeable video synchronized with several (sometimes up to 10) audio players. Users could change video angles and mute or change the volume on each audio player, replicating being in a band.
- Built a tool for iOS that utilizes TabSync, a music notation library. The app set up a server to host files, and a WebView played a video that synchronized with a running sheet music notation tab.
- Built Accessibility mode for iOS that ran when the iPhone or iPad's VoiceOver mode was enabled. This mode allowed visually impaired users to access every course and lesson, as well as use a highly customized video player featuring all playback controls.
- Built a tvOS app that allowed users to view and play the same lessons from courses that they could on the iOS app. This app featured an audio player, video player, and a .pdf viewing tool.
Experience
iOS App for TrueFire
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/truefire-guitar-lessons/id690143001I created this project from scratch for TrueFire and was responsible for every aspect of its development, API integration, and App Store deployment. I also designed the UI for a lot of the newer features of the app. It utilizes many native libraries in order to stream audio and video files, download .mp3, .mp4, and .PDF files, send and receive messages, display push notifications, give users with vision impairments an easier mode to interact with the app, and much more. The app also features a very advanced tool that synchronizes multiple audio players with a video player, giving each player customizable volumes.
