iOS (formerly iPhone OS) is a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple in 2007 exclusively for Apple hardware devices, including the iPhone. It is the second most popular mobile operating system globally after Android, with over 2 million iOS applications in the Apple App Store. The iOS user interface (UI) is based on multi-touch gestures and components like sliders, switches, and buttons. iOS also features internal accelerometers to respond to shaking the device or rotating it in three dimensions, and the operating system is also full of accessibility functions that enable users with vision and hearing disabilities to properly use Apple products. Major versions of iOS are released annually. iOS developers are responsible for developing applications for mobile devices powered by Apple’s iOS operating system and are proficient in one of the two programming languages for the platform: Objective-C or Swift. iOS apps can also be written in Ruby, Python, C#/.NET, Lua, Pascal, or using abstraction libraries for writing iOS apps with web technologies.

Toptal is the largest fully remote network of high-skilled freelancers in the world. We created this tool using our large, comprehensive database of vetted freelancers. The Freelance Calculator empowers you to see how much you could earn as a freelancer, including what your hourly rate would need to be to match your current or desired salary based on the number of hours you work per week.
Calculations of weekly, monthly, and yearly salaries are determined by a one week unit of measure: hours per week multiplied by hourly rate. By default, values are 40 hours per week and the 25th percentile hourly rate. Monthly salaries are calculated as the summation of 4 weekly salaries, and yearly salaries are calculated as the summation of 52 weekly salaries.
