Project History

Native IP Camera

https://www.grassvalley.com/products/cameras/ldx-100-series/ldx-150/

Served as the executive sponsor of the first live production, 100Gbps, native-IP, system camera.

The LDX 100 is a native, 100Gbps, SMPTE 2110, system camera, consisting of the camera head supported by the recently introduced creative grading remote control system. The project required a proprietary ASIC development for the imaging section, a revolutionary non-contact thermal design, a range of operational-focused ergonomic enhancements, and a direct connection to up to a 100Gbps network connection.

Cloud-based Enterprise Branch Router

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c03952700

Defined and launched the first cloud-hosted, enterprise branch router.

The VSR-100 was the predecessor to the VSR1000 (shown in the project link), a software version of an HW router designed to provide branch connectivity, communications, and security within an enterprise network architecture. This was an early approach to network function virtualization initiatives designed to leverage the growing cloud data center market served by HP.

Master Control Switcher Development

Product managed the Maestro Master Control Switcher featuring a unique touchscreen interface combined with purpose-built, modular HW control panels and processing engines.

The Maestro Master Control product delivered a new concept to the master control market by offering a flexible HW and touchscreen control surface with a powerful processing engine, far surpassing any of the then-current capabilities available in the market. This product was used to select, add graphical branding, split out audio and video transitions, and control up to 16 channels of TV via either automation or direct human control.
