This project attempted to offer recruiters tools to guarantee fairness for candidates taking online tests. Sometimes, candidates try to cheat if they are not confident: someone might take the test on their behalf or prompt them during the test; candidates might take screenshots and send them to someone else for answers; or participants may move out of the test window to cheat in another browser tab.

My job was to create industry-standard features allowing recruiters to track and catch cheating candidates during tests. The ultimate goal was to help them make necessary decisions in the talent acquisition process based on these test insights. I researched and listed the features that would provide value in this scenario. Then, with the help of specific technology, my team created these features, including browser locks, print screen notifications, image captures, face detection, face recognition, suspicious object detection, multiple voice detection, audio and video captures, geolocation tracking, and live proctoring.

As a product owner, I did market research and prepared a strategy to make SHL's talent acquisition products accessible. I identified features to help disabled candidates during their application tests, including color palette options, answer-masking support to mask options and avoid anxiety or cognitive load, answer eliminator support, line reader support, and a magnifier feature to magnify a specific area of the test. I also devised keyboard navigation that allows users to navigate through the test without any keyboard trap and a screen reader that reads all the elements on the test screen without bypassing or missing anything. My job was to make all the products operable, robust, understandable, and perceivable.

I prepared a strategy and decided on the talent acquisition products that should be allowed a bidirectional functionality. This approach allowed me to bifurcate the products into different categories and make decisions based on this classification.

Once the strategy was prepared, this functionality was effectively developed to allow participants to move from one question to another, letting them update answers wherever needed. The new solution allowed users to mark questions for review so questions could be revisited and edited. In addition, a review page was created at the end of the test, offering an overview of the number of questions attempted, the questions skipped, and the questions marked for review.
