For the past ten years, Maurício has worked as a senior designer in product and visual design and as a lead designer in all creative fields. He has designed for large companies such as Fjord, Huge, and JWT, and collaborated on projects with clients like Coca-Cola, Whirlpool, Apple, Ford, Fiat, and Santander. Maurício joined Toptal to work on projects that impact the everyday life of users and those that experiment with cutting edge technology.
Joined Elkanodata team to work with the IGO market, helping organizations such as the World Bank, and the United Nations to analyze the data they have, and create impactful storytellings to emote and inform the users about the problems that are happening in the 3rd world countries.
Redesigned the biggest green building certification website, reworking everything from zero to a modern and interactive experience.
Helped WIPO to deliver their new Creative Notes report, to inform all the people that work with creativity around the world about the market situation.
Worked with UNFE to release a campaign to drive attention to the LGBTQ+ community on Africa and all that is been done to help then.
Created a CMS for EBU news, so they can create and release they report themselves.
Redesigned a B2B platform for the telecommunications market by defining a new visual language and experience for them (a new direction for UX and best practices to be followed).
Conducted research on the stakeholders and users for the above B2B platform.
Defined a new story to tell and sell the product to the market for the above project.
Researched and implemented an agile methodology for the biggest bank on Spain by delivering metrics and tools to help them change from within and implement new methodologies that saved a lot of time and money and made the employees happier and more motivated.
Redesigned Worten's eCommerce—Portugal's biggest eCommerce store—using a web app technology we enable the client to give power to their users, making the navigation on 54 different categories they provide.
Designed for one of the biggest banks in Spain and Mexico (Sabadell) a new aplication that agregates all the customer bank acounts, following the new PSD2 directive that impacts directly on how banks and financial institutions deal with user data. A large and complex project with more then 200 screens designed, giving the user a lot of functionalities like transfer, cash pooling, payments, among others.
Contributed to a project for Coca-Cola, involving an interactive website with a film (also produced by me) to solve their social media problems. This film showed the entire process of a Coca-Cola drink from harvest to delivery.
Redesigned complete Whirpool's KitchenAid eCommerce, blog, and attendance—unifying it all within a single website.
Built a financial platform for a small fintech company that preferred to teach their users instead of just taking their money; so this platform came with learning modules, interactive videos, and a lot of beautiful charts and numbers.
Redesigned and rethought the brand of the biggest insurance company from Peru.
Redesigned, as part of a team, the biggest bank in Latin America.
Maurício is a mentor in the Toptal Global Mentor’s Program.
This program is a partnership between Toptal and General Assembly to provide high
quality mentorship for students from minority and low income backgrounds who are
looking to begin their careers as professional designers. Maurício
shows commitment to diversity in tech by mentoring a General Assembly student every
week for a year, covering everything from design tips and tricks to advice on making
it in the industry.
