Flight Management Solution for Private Aviation

Managed a team of 70, targeting software solutions for private aviation, including on-demand bookings and quotations, itineraries management, catering, ground transportation, flight operations, payments and invoices, and crew and customer services.

I played a pivotal role in transitioning the legacy itinerary management module from a monolithic architecture to microservices architecture capable of sending over 1,000 itineraries per day, thereby increasing the operational efficiencies of services teams by 25%. As a result, record 65 releases were delivered on time, to the great satisfaction of the client company's CIO.

One of the most significant achievements was reorganizing the team into multiple self-motivated and self-sustaining cells to deliver services across different workstreams requiring close collaboration in a multi-vendor environment. During this process, I mentored the team through knowledge-sharing sessions on aviation business models and flight department business processes.

I managed stakeholder needs onsite in London and Malta offices and offsite through Pakistan offices, using Jira to capture business requirements and convert them to epics and user stories. Delivering release readiness demos to stakeholders, I ensured the incorporation of UAT feedback to successfully roll out releases to production.

Private Aviation Web Portal

Launched and managed a private aviation web portal for an aviation client

The private aviation web portal allowed customers to view aviation blog posts, search through company information, check flight availability, and book flights.

I conducted the onsite discovery workshop with the client in Mayfair, London, for private aviation web portal development that allows high net worth (HNWI) and ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI) to check the availability of private jets and their bookings.

I supported the client in shortlisting vendors for CMS integration with the web portal and developed the project roadmap and milestones. For the development, I assembled a team of seven engineers. I delivered the project using the scrum framework, and facilitated PO with backlog grooming and prioritization. I also facilitated scrum ceremonies.

Private Aviation Mobile Apps

Launched and managed several releases of iOS and Android mobile apps for a private aviation client.

Private aviation mobile apps allow customers to select premium memberships, book flights, search for one-way and empty legs, and utilize ancillary services, including FBO information, airport picks and drops, inflight entertainment, and catering services for travel. The app was integrated with an in-house flight management solution for fetching data through APIs.

During this project, I enhanced the online visibility of customers through iOS and Android apps for booking private jets. I led the development of both iOS and Android apps with a team of 16 resources, including UI/UX, QA, and front-end and back-end engineers. The scrum framework was used to deliver the project.

I facilitated the PO with backlog grooming and prioritization and facilitated scrum ceremonies. I also successfully transitioned to Kanban for the ongoing maintenance of the apps after launch to the App Store and Play Store

Electronic Invoice Management Solution for Dealers and Fleet

Managed multiple work streams of a vendor and fleet management invoicing solution.

I led a team of 40 resources to deliver on the front and back-end development of the platform and developed project release plans with detailed estimates against feature requirements.

Careem is a Dubai-based super app with operations in over 100 cities, covering 12 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions.

I closely coordinated with Careem's core team (UAE and Pakistan offices), executing end-to-end test flows of Careem apps, including ride booking, discounts and promotions, rider availability, credit balance, and other features. I documented comprehensive test cases and test data for re-use.

Dialog Axiata Complaint Management System

Dialog Axiata Group, a subsidiary of Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata), operates Sri Lanka's Leading Quad-Play Connectivity Provider.

I acted as a business analyst from the vendor side and captured complex business flows and functional requirements. I mapped out requirements to the Siebel 8.0 feature set, managed QA processes, and executed test plans and cycles. On numerous occasions, I also managed stakeholder expectations in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
