Cloud-based Platform for Multiple Microservices

Transitioning to a microservices architecture can be a complex and challenging task. One of the main challenges is setting up the necessary infrastructure, pipelines, and observability tools to support the new architecture. My team was responsible for building a platform that allows application teams to quickly and easily generate the initial code structure for their microservices while also providing all the necessary cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and policies to support the new architecture.

One of the platform's key benefits is that it reduces the time application teams need to spend on infrastructure and setup, allowing them to focus more on business logic and delivering value to customers. By automating much of the setup process, we can help teams get up and running quickly without worrying about the complexities of managing cloud infrastructure and pipelines.

Developed a cloud-based platform for multiple microservices. It also provides several built-in observability tools, such as logging and monitoring, to help teams identify and resolve issues quickly. This is essential in a microservice architecture, where many moving parts have to be monitored and managed.

Monitoring-as-code Product for Organization's Microservices

Created a MaC product for a client to automate system monitoring configuration. We utilized technologies such as Terraform, AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions, and Python. The MaC product allowed teams to easily configure and maintain system monitoring by defining the desired state in code. This approach enabled us to provide a standardized, scalable, and version-controlled solution for monitoring, ensuring that all systems were monitored the same way across the organization.

We also implemented automated testing to validate the configuration before applying it, reducing the risk of misconfigurations and minimizing the time to remediate issues. Overall, the MaC product significantly improved the system observability, reduced manual effort, and increased the speed of incident detection and resolution.

Monolithic App Migration to SAP Commerce Cloud V2

Migrated a monolithic on-premise application to SAP Commerce Cloud V2 for our client. With the new setup, the system can scale up automatically during sales and promotions, and the blue-green deployment strategy ensures zero downtime during deployments. The migration involved a thorough analysis of the existing system, defining the new architecture, and implementing it in a phased manner. We leveraged SAP Commerce Cloud's built-in monitoring, logging, and security features and integrated them with the client's existing tools and processes for seamless management.

The migration not only improved the system's performance but also enabled faster feature delivery, better user experience, and cost optimization. We ensured proper documentation and knowledge transfer to the client's team to maintain the system and make future enhancements. Overall, the migration was successful, and the client was happy with the outcome.

eCommerce Platform with Multi-level Marketing Capabilities

As a senior architect and lead, I helped build an SAP Commerce-based eCommerce application for a client in the dietary products industry. The application needed to allow customers to make purchases and commission to be passed on to coaches.

The project was complicated and unique due to the numerous required third-party integrations. My responsibilities included designing the architecture, overseeing the development team, and ensuring the project was completed on time and within budget. We used the Agile methodology to manage the project and implemented continuous integration and deployment to ensure rapid delivery of new features. The solution involved complex workflows for order management, payment gateway integration, shipping integration, and integration with the client's existing systems.

Testing was a critical component of the project, and we used a combination of manual and automated testing to ensure that the application was free of defects. The end result was a robust, scalable, and secure eCommerce application that met the client's needs and exceeded their expectations.
