Secure and Scalable Payment Gateway Implementation on GCP

In a collaborative team effort, I addressed vulnerabilities in financial transactions and enhanced scalability by developing a secure payment processing solution in a previous role. As the project lead, I worked closely with software engineers, cloud architects, and security experts, managing the team and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

I deployed a payment gateway on GCE for scalable infrastructure and utilized cloud load balancing for high availability. Cloud IAM provided robust access control, and GCS securely stored transaction data. Additional security measures included using Cloud KMS for sensitive payment information and Cloud Monitoring and Logging for performance tracking. Pub/Sub facilitated asynchronous communication, and Google Cloud SQL ensured secure storage of structured payment data.

For DevOps and continuous integration, I established a streamlined pipeline using GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Docker, and Kubernetes. Cloud IAP secured payment gateway endpoints and API gateways managed, secured, and monitored associated APIs.

The project yielded a 45% boost in navigation efficiency and a remarkable 60% rise in consumer satisfaction, reducing dissatisfaction risks.

Preserving Data Integrity and Consistency Post Migration

In this data migration project, I created strategies for post-migration data validation. I initiated a pre-migration assessment, which included capturing digital signatures for on-premises datasets and establishing a baseline for post-migration comparison.

During the migration, I used tools for a secure data transfer to GCP. Post migration, I leveraged GCP's native tools, including Dataflow and Data Catalog, for validation.

STRATEGIES
• Calculated checksums for data on-premises and in GCP. Compared checksums post-migration to identify variations, indicating potential data corruption.
• Conducted data sampling and spot checks on migrated data and compared samples against the source to validate accuracy and consistency.
• Developed custom validation scripts for automated validation and ran scripts to compare datasets in on-premises and GCP environments, identifying discrepancies.

DISCREPANCY HANDLING
• Conducted root cause analyses.
• Implemented immediate remediation for critical issues.
• Wrote up comprehensive documentation for stakeholders.

This approach to data validation facilitated a smooth transition to the cloud environment. By swiftly addressing discrepancies, I contributed to a reliable post-migration landscape.
