Work Experience

QA Analyst I

2020 - 2022
Colorado Judicial Branch
  • Investigated and discovered cross-site scripting vulnerabilities across multiple public-facing apps that could have led to security breaches and compromised public confidence in judicial applications intended to increase public access to justice.
  • Collaborated with the MuleSoft development team to test a cloud-based implementation of an existing case-data search service. Implemented performance test metrics to ensure the new implementation outperformed the existing one.
  • Piloted an implementation of TestComplete as an automation solution well-suited to the department's largely non-technical QA team. Provided training on automated test development and created department-specific documentation.
  • Conducted user acceptance testing for new bug fixes, edits, and enhancements focused on enterprise-level Java, Angular, and Adobe Coldfusion apps.
  • Developed automated testing frameworks to increase test coverage for an extensive suite of legacy applications.
  • Followed the Agile methodology and prepared manual and automated test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Technologies: ColdFusion, API Testing, Load Testing, Apache JMeter, Postman, Python 3, Functional Testing, Usability Testing, TestComplete, Selenium, Jira, Zephyr, Bitbucket, Git, Atlassian, Testing, Quality Assurance (QA), Manual QA, QA Testing, Regression Testing, Manual Testing, Automated UI Testing, UI Testing, Quality Improvement, Manual Software Testing, Test Cases, Test Case Creation, Bug Analysis & Reporting, Exploratory Testing, SQL, MySQL

Lead QA Analyst

2018 - 2020
Benningfield Group Inc.
  • Safeguarded an enterprise-level application with older pages at risk of cross-site scripting attacks. Investigated pages and sub-pages, implemented and verified fixes, and protected sensitive multi-million-dollar customer financial data records.
  • Partnered with web developers in the flawless update of an outdated company website. Tested the site for accessibility compliance and visual and functional appeal, then provided design concepts for a new sales-leads-generating website.
  • Developed a Python script to resolve conflicts between different development environments used by the QA team, improving team efficiency when testing payments, and reducing troubleshooting time.
  • Handled the database, back- and front-end testing, provided report validations, generated defect reports, and tracked status.
  • Conducted user acceptance testing for new bug fixes, edits, and enhancements focused on enterprise-level Adobe ColdFusion apps.
  • Performed quality assurance and user acceptance testing for an Angular 8/9 field service management application under development.
Technologies: JavaScript, Postman, API Testing, Functional Testing, Angular, Python 3, Figma, Git, Bitbucket, Zephyr, Jira, Atlassian, Testing, Quality Assurance (QA), Manual QA, QA Testing, Regression Testing, Manual Testing, Automated UI Testing, UI Testing, Quality Improvement, Manual Software Testing, Test Cases, Test Case Creation, Bug Analysis & Reporting, Exploratory Testing, Business Analysis, SQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server

Braille Transcriptionist

2018 - 2018
Sacramento County Office of Education
  • Made classroom materials accessible to blind and low-vision students.
  • Acquired working knowledge of Unified English Braille, Braille mathematics code, and Braille transcription software.
  • Partnered with an open-source development team to troubleshoot and improve an open-source braille transcription solution that could replace expensive existing software and increase transcription productivity immensely.
  • Helped get expensive and powerful tactile graphics embosser operational after non-use due to equipment and software issues, configuring software properly, and enabling a range of tactile maps, graphics, and charts for visually impaired students.
Technologies: Braille, Beta Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Braille Transcription, Bug Analysis & Reporting

Instructional Assistant

2015 - 2017
Sacramento City Unified School District
  • Assisted students with mild to moderate needs in the regular education classroom.

Public Access Data Feed

The Public Access Data Feed is a collection of API endpoints that integrates with third-party vendor applications to access court case data. The original API endpoints were over 15 years old and had several issues related to performance and a lack of an audit trail.

I led the testing efforts for functional, data integrity, and performance goals. For every stage of development, I had to ensure that the new suite of APIs:
• exceeded performance metrics for the existing service
• consistently displayed accurate data that matches the existing service along with updated business requirements
• provided a robust audit trail for record-keeping and financial purposes

I helped set up test environments and configure tools such as Postman and Apache JMeter to accomplish the testing goals. Upon completion, the new API met and exceeded the abovementioned goals. I also created an automated testing suite in TestComplete to ensure continued quality.

Field Service Management App

I was the lead tester for a lightweight field service management app in development at Benningfield Group. Testing efforts began at the API and database level and grew into higher-level functional testing as the front end was built. I sat in on usability tests performed by outside users and potential first clients and documented feedback on the application that was returned to the development team after review. I documented test cases in Jira, tracked defects, and occasionally pushed bug fixes through to the application. I also developed and laid out an updated UI design for a future mobile app in Figma.

Colorado Courts E-filing

I collaborated with my QA Team at Colorado Judicial to manage QA testing efforts for the Colorado Courts E-Filing (CCE) project.

The goal of CCE is to provide an interface for law firms to file documents related to new and existing court cases. Cases and documents submitted via this platform are then sent to an internal application to review and approve (or reject) case filings. I led testing efforts for a new self-represented (Pro Se) user type. My testing covered account creation, log-in, case creation (including authorized case class/type validation), file uploads, and payment processing. Pro Se E-filing is now available to the public for domestic relations cases, and few issues are being reported.
