Ignition Project Development

This project aimed to develop a centralized energy management system (EMS), digital twin, visualization, and other functionalities to provide every user with long-term data. I was a project engineer on this project.

The analytical dashboard was utilized to minimize energy consumption and extract data. The plant floor data was pulled from Siemens and Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs) using Ignition and Cirrus Link MQTT modules and sent to the central Ignition server, which was installed on the Azure cloud server. The time series data was then stored on a PostgreSQL database using Ignition software.

Monitoring and control of the application on the Azure cloud server were provided by utilizing the Ignition platform. The analytical dashboard in Grafana and Jupyter modules is also available in the application. After the application was tested using live data and development was completed, the plant team verified the application and data. Once the confirmation was received, the application was made live.

This application was awarded two awards for its outstanding performance.
