Floating Territories Made of Plastic Waste

Led the design and development of the proof of concept of a patent-pending technology that enables countries to build artificial territories made of plastic waste. Raised money and built a consortium to begin the execution.

Every year, 8 million tons of plastics leak into the ocean each year, resulting in catastrophic degradation of nature and our food chain.

In addition, Global temperature is expected to rise by 32°C by 2100, flooding areas where 275 million people currently live.

Governments are responding by creating artificial territories; however,
reclamation by earth fill is expensive, time-consuming, and decimates the environment.

From 2018-2020, my responsibilities included:

1. Leading the development of a patent-pending technology that enables countries to build artificial land using recycled plastic. This technology can preserve existing land, reclaim new land to the sea, and act as sovereignty markers.

2. Defining and managing the product development roadmap, budget, and team.

3. Identifying, negotiating, and closing contracts with design and engineering companies across various countries.

4. Supervising the protection of our intellectual property, including patents and designs.

5. Raising funds to finance the development of a proof of concept

Redefined Swisscom Mobile Pricing Strategy in The Face of Disruption

Part of the team that implemented a dual strategy that simultaneously repositioned Swisscom's mobile pricing strategy whilst creating a new growth engine for the future.

Defined a new pricing strategy to protect Swisscom's mobile business by shifting from minute subscriptions to charging for mobile network speed packages.

Structured a plan to evolve our revenue model from charging for minutes to
charging for bundles of minutes to, finally, charging for speed packages.

To overcome the initial organization’s skepticism, we took the following steps:

1. Quantified the expected revenue loss to OTTs over the next five years. We started by surfacing the cost of inaction, demonstrating that the status quo had a growing downside.

2. Provided a limited set of business model options to the leadership team. This shifted their attention to thinking about which of the options was best for them.

3. Broke down the transition into two phases, reducing the impact and risk. Early on, we knew that charging for speed was the end state; however, we took an intermediary step to allow the organization, our clients, and the market to process this change.

Creation and Launch of the GANYDAR Foundation

http://www.ganydar.org

Led the development and launch of a free, interactive digital platform to find and offer jobs, as well as opportunities to learn, create businesses, and prosper.

GANYDAR creates opportunities for young, vulnerable Latin-Americans so that they may earn a living, gain confidence, and positively contribute to their communities.

I led the set up, definition, and launch of the various investment projects in schools and digital education in Cuba, Uruguay, and Mexico.

Product Manager to Create the Perfect Cigar Smoking Experience

Led the product development and market validation of a solution to create the perfect cigar-smoking experience at unmatched speed.

Smoking a cigar at its optimal relative humidity (RH) is essential to enjoying the flavor, aromas and guaranteeing uniform combustion.

And yet, three in ten cigars disappoint because they are smoked at the wrong relative humidity.

HULECOS enhances the cigar-smoking experience, allowing clients to enjoy the maximum taste and aroma of each cigar.

I was responsible for striking a partnership to acquire the necessary intellectual property, validating the clients' struggles, and translating them into a prioritized list of product features.

In addition, I led HULECOS's fundraising and closed the company's seed round with external investors.

Lastly, I managed the feature roadmap and venture budget, ensuring we focused our energy and resources on solving a limited set of important issues.
