Request for Quotes Apps for ETF Trading

Led the development project of a set of apps for tier 1 investment banks to send and receive directed request for quotes.

Directed requests for quotes (DRFQ) are privately negotiated transactions in which participants request and negotiate quotes for high volume trades, and possibly execute the transaction accordingly.

The newly developed apps allow the users, typically front desk traders at an investment bank, to send and receive DRFQs from several venues using a normalized interface and to automate the negotiation when needed.

ETF Trading Apps

Led the development team in planning, backlog reviews, and retrospectives.

ETFs (exchange-traded funds) are today's most popular type of fund, traded by retail investors and financial institutions.

Firms trading ETFs usually need to manage and trade both the fund and the securities that compose the fund for their investment strategies effectively. The suite of apps developed fulfills the needs of the ETF trading desks of major financial institutions.

Exchange Connectivity for A Tier 1 Bank

Led the implementation and deployment of a suite of connectivity components for a major Investment bank.

Exchange connectivity is a key part of the trading systems used by tier 1 investment firms and banks, as it allows them to perform trades in really short timeframes.

The connectivity components guarantee extreme performance and high availability and ensure that all the features made available by the exchanges and the trading system are available to the end-user. The end users are usually the quantitative developers who implement the automated trading strategy developed by a financial institution.

In this specific project, we successfully implemented several new connectivity components and deployed them, together with the whole trading system, to a major bank that wanted to replace their current trading system.
