LinkedIn Learning

https://www.linkedin.com/learning/

Led the prototyping, development, launch, and scaling of the first internal version of LinkedIn Learning (called LearnIn).

The newly hired director of learning and development wanted to build a learning platform that encouraged informal learning. I handled everything from mock-up creation to coding to QA of the first launch, then hired a team of developers and designers to continue building. We ended up with an average of 73% of employees using the app monthly. We integrated with Lynda and built a relationship that ended up turning into an acquisition. This project seeded what today is LinkedIn Learning.

Skills Certification

https://explore.degreed.com/learning

Led the teams that launched a brand new approach to measuring skills.

While director of product at Degreed, I led multiple teams' work through the research, design, development, testing, and launch phases of a new approach to measuring skills (Skills Certification). I successfully launched to existing and new clients.

Degreed Mobile App

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/degreed/id1086998254

Led the product team that created, launched, and maintained the Degreed Mobile App to consume and enterprise audiences.

As Degreed scaled from 10,000 users to over two million users, a mobile app was often requested to provide employees with access to their learning on the go. I took this over from a failed outsourcing attempt, helped the team define what would provide value for users, and then did everything needed to get the team to launch.

This involved both Android and IOS builds.

Long term this team was one of five teams I led from a product standpoint, with strong collaboration needed between the consumer engagement team and the mobile teams.

LinkedIn Intranet Rebuild using Adobe Experience CMS

I quarterbacked the rebuild of the intranet at LinkedIn leading five teams totaling 30 people and reporting to 4 C-level executives.

LinkedIn had gone through a significant period of hypergrowth during my time at the company from 1,500 employees to 10,000. Given my past success building internal products I was asked to lead the rebuild of Cinco, our internal intranet. This involved requests from every internal organization with most of the requests coming from IT and HR.

I led a monthly executive sync with four of the c-level executives who were co-sponsoring the projects. The CHRO Pat Wadors said after one of our meetings "This was such a mess before you came, but it's so organized and clear now. I know who is doing what, which experiments we are running, and what I can expect."

We delivered the project on-time and under budget.

Technologies involved include Adobe Experience CMS, Google Search Appliance (GSA), multiple custom-build angular apps, Workday, and OKTA among others.
