Rocky Mountaineer
  • Led a multi-million major capital railcar acquisition project, which included ten brand new bi-level dome cars with a fully integrated HMI software control system delivered in high-quality and under budget.
  • Managed an international software development team of five developers as project manager and scrum master using Agile best practices and scrum to build an HMI interface for the rail cars that controlled all aspects of the functionality.
  • Led a cross-functional team of 20 based in two countries to ensure that the project scope, budget, and schedule were maintained with regular monitoring and status updates sent to senior management.
  • Completed the car type's regulatory homologation working closely with government bodies such as US FRA and Transport Canada, resulting in final approval being awarded to run in existing routes.
  • Supported the development, training, and familiarization of new assets with other departments within the company. Trained over 200 people on the use of the new equipment.
  • Served as project management mentor to team members. Assisted and guided two team members towards their PMP certification.

Hero (Honda) Motocorp, Ltd.
  • Managed R&D new product development worth over $4 million for multiple motorcycle models working with cross-functional teams, resulting in India's first off-road motorcycle launch.
  • Setup and executed waterfall-style project management practices derived from Japanese best practices such as TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Lean.
  • Saved over $100,000/year by overseeing multi-source vendors and using the Lean methodology to remove waste and non-value-added processes.
  • Maintained and enforced JIS and IS standards during endurance and performance testing procedures resulting in high quality deliverables.

Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf 3.0 Rail Cars

Managed the end-to-end release of ten GoldLeaf luxury bi-level dome rail cars with a fully integrated HMI software control system.

Managed multiple international cross-functional teams working closely with a rail car builder in Germany and a software development team to build the rail cars. The cars were released under budget and of very high quality. The HMI software built was a collaborative effort between the OEM, Rocky Mountaineer, and a software development contractor. It met all the requirements of the company.

Rocky Mountaineer SilverLeaf Rebuild Project

Managed the multi-million dollar rebuild project of rail cars from the old Pullman-style coaches to modern SilverLeaf luxury dome cars.

This project was a major overhaul and rebuild of old single-level Pullman-style rail cars to modern and technically sound SilverLeaf dome cars. The cars were equipped with state-of-the-art control systems and data monitoring systems. I led the end-to-end development as the customer-side project manager.

Hero Impulse Launch: India's First Off-road Motorcycle

Team member and department representative in the launch of India's first off-road motorcycle.

Represented the R&D engine team as project manager in the development and launch of India's first off-road motorcycle by Hero Motocorp, Ltd. This was a cross-functional project between multiple departments and a phenomenal marketing-driven effort to get the right requirements and specifications.

Rocky Mountaineer: Connected Train Network

Implemented a Connected Train network between all the rail cars, which consisted of an interlinked LAN and WiFi.

Served as the lead engineering team member in this cross-functional project, where we successfully implemented a 100 Mbps speed network across a moving Train (with all rail cars linked) to help with inter-train communication as well as data recording. This was based on network hubs, CAT5 cables, and side-mounted antennas for full connectivity within the network even when the order of rail cars was changed.
