Spark Streaming from Kafka

I designed and implemented the Spark streaming Lambda architecture with the persistence of high throughput messages from Kafka into HDFS/Hive-optimized parquet tables. I also utilized Cassandra and a real-time push to WebSocket listeners and asynchronous processors of in-memory batches executing arbitrary DSL or externally injected code in Python and R. I built the entire deployment and cloud provisioning needed to run the streaming app.

One-click Deployment Tool

I designed and implemented a provisioning tool in Scala to deploy infrastructure on the cloud and on premises. The tool was able to deploy multiple open-source technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka, Hive, Zookeeper) in a flexible way to meet client requirements.

ETL Pipeline

A compassionate technology company turning science into big data products and services.
I built the ETL pipeline for several analytical applications using custom Hadoop and spark jobs and Hive and Spark SQL scripts. I also built distributed jobs for moving data between hdfs/tachyon into Cassandra/solr using Hadoop-mr/Spark.

On several occasions, I had to patch the open source code (Spark, Mesos, Tachyon) as we productized the latest version of this stack.
