I worked on a team as a data architect for a financial institution in Ireland (PTSB) developing a new enterprise data layer for the company. This was built over an existing data warehouse and multiple other disparate sources to pull all data required together and was intended to replace the existing siloed data marts and processes.

As a part of this process, I helped design the new data layer and ETL processes and built new data models and prototype schemas based on multiple and various system and business requirements, using SAS, Teradata, and PowerShell. This involved working with different areas of the bank on requirements, deriving business logic from existing data and processes, and developing new processes, models, and dashboards for use by the different parties.

Additionally, I created new insights from the data, writing complex queries to shape it and feed to visualizations. The project itself was a mix of agile and rapid prototyping. I had full end-to-end involvement, from requirements gathering to development and testing, as well as implementing audit controls, data lineage management, automation, and reconciliation over the new system.

Built a process for an eCommerce company to ensure they met their GDPR regulatory obligations. The process required interaction with multiple systems and technologies, such as traditional RDBMS, Hadoop infrastructure, and file-based systems. The solution involved coding in Teradata SQL, Hive, UNIX scripting, and Python.

Developed a SQL Server-based system to assist in customer relationship management for a retail company. The existing system was inefficient and ran on an ad-hoc basis. I created a new process and system that ran quicker and nightly, feeding reports and other outputs. This allowed for greater analysis on campaigns and customer analytics, as well automation of many processes that were previously ad-hoc and laborious.
