Implementation of SMSC for a Mobile Operator in a Cloud environment
The networking was built from scratch, and connected using a VPN to customers' internal network. A security solution was implemented so that only certain people have operations and maintenance (O&M) access to the environment. High availability was accomplished using the auto-scaling of servers based on demand.
The database was backed up daily, and due to the local policy, I configured the system to keep the data for 11 years after which it expires. Local customer endpoints were created depending on the region from which the customers were from so that they didn't experience lags. Monitoring of the system was accomplished using CloudWatch using SNS which sends out notifications to the network operations center (NOC) team.
