  • Migrated the HP Exstream (documentation engine) legacy application from IBM Softlayer to an AWS Kubernetes cluster platform.
  • Built a machine learning platform utilizing Glue, Lambda Step functions, EMR, Redshift, and QuickSight. Deployed the landing zone in AWS for a startup client.

AWS Landing Zone for Merger Initiative

This was related to an acquisition project for a telecommunications company. I developed a platform to integrate and migrate data from the acquisition platform.

Key activities included developing the target state architecture and setting up an AWS environment suitable for hosting secure workloads. I assisted in maintaining consistency with operation and governance at the enterprise level and deployed a centralized monitoring and logging system for the platform. Additionally, I created a landing zone in AWS and automated CI/CD deployment.

Cloud Operation Management

The objective was to efficiently manage the AWS cloud operations of a data analytics digital platform. I transitioned the AWS data and analytics platform from AWS ProServ and simplified operations to quickly test and deploy the CI/CD pipeline set up. I created the recover and restore data mechanisms in case of issues, developed a data masking operation using Maskopy, and centralized alerts and notifications on the data processing pipeline.

Automate IP Address Changes

This project was for one of the largest banks in Canada. The solution was to automate endpoint IP address updates in NACL using a multi-account and multi-region strategy. With this automation, I reduced two weeks of effort to one hour. I developed a series of triggered Lambda functions based on events and notifications. The challenge was integrating this solution with the client's highly secure and compliant CI/CD pipeline.

Hybrid Cloud: Grid Computing

This was a proof of concept in a grid computing application for a big Canadian bank to use cloud resources in the event of a burst in workload. This solution could potentially save close to $900,000/year. I developed a custom solution to add additional computing resources in the cloud in the event of a high volume workload in the on-prem grid application. I orchestrated the server readiness to absorb and process the workloads in the cloud. I deployed the solution in the client platform and proved it to be just as viable an alternative while avoiding the expansion of the grid for burst compute needs.

AWS Cost Optimization and Billing Dashboard

I deployed a CUDOS (cost and usage dashboard operations solution) dashboard for a startup company. It helped to get a detailed view of AWS usage and costs. I provided visuals, in-depth insights, and intuitive querying capability. The solution was built using only native AWS services.
