  • Implemented a systems engineering approach to new feature design to meet customer needs. I acted as a systems engineer and product owner for the "Digital Owner's Manual" feature deployed in all vehicles produced by Ford.
  • Reviewed existing system designs to find new opportunities for cost, quality, and technology improvements in all new vehicle programs.
  • Developed system specifications, Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) documentation, feature verification plans, feature cybersecurity relevance specifics, threat modeling, and functional safety compliance methods.

Global System Architecture for a Leading Automotive Company

Global control system functional requirements that I analyzed. I also identified major new features, modeled them through the IBM Rational Rhapsody model, and generated new interface requirements for serial data. This project then required allocating the functions and the interfaces to the appropriate electronic control units (ECUs) on the global corporate network.

The objective was to eliminate redundant control functionality on various programs across the globe and optimize software, hardware, serial data, and busloads between controllers. This global system architecture encompassed all vehicle domains, including powertrain, hybrid controls, body controls, active safety, and infotainment. The controller production code was generated based on the functional definitions and software components modeled in IBM Rational Rhapsody.
