Work Experience
Technical Product Manager
Ford Motor Company
- Implemented a systems engineering approach to new feature design to meet customer needs. I acted as a systems engineer and product owner for the "Digital Owner's Manual" feature deployed in all vehicles produced by Ford.
- Reviewed existing system designs to find new opportunities for cost, quality, and technology improvements in all new vehicle programs.
- Developed system specifications, Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) documentation, feature verification plans, feature cybersecurity relevance specifics, threat modeling, and functional safety compliance methods.
- Analyzed system requirements and decomposed them into consumable tasks for developers and testers.
- Communicated key project landmarks and deliveries to the team and monitored actual release dates.
- Evaluated incoming feature requests and identified future resource needs based on these requests.
- Quantified feature release quality by evaluating projected software defect rates, number of open defects, and other metrics. I identified critical defects and carried out root cause analysis (RCA).
- Built effective relationships with cross-functional teams and created an environment to learn about the latest technologies and possible implementations.
Experience
Global System Architecture for a Leading Automotive Company
The objective was to eliminate redundant control functionality on various programs across the globe and optimize software, hardware, serial data, and busloads between controllers. This global system architecture encompassed all vehicle domains, including powertrain, hybrid controls, body controls, active safety, and infotainment. The controller production code was generated based on the functional definitions and software components modeled in IBM Rational Rhapsody.
