I created a data ingest system that streams and classifies data in real-time from social media providers through GNIP.
An internal user interface allows researchers in FGV to input query terms. This, in turn, updates the stream and classifiers running as highly-available services in the backend as Haskell executables.
This service processes up to millions of records a day and is responsible for parsing, classifying, and separately providing a REST API for downstream consumers.
The link provided is a public-facing interface to some of the data used by researchers.
