WorkRamp needed a platform redesign to attract enterprise clients and sustain rapid growth in competitive markets.
WorkRamp had a strong training product that solved core customer pain points. However, its existing design lacked the polish and flexibility required to compete for large-scale enterprise adoption. The leadership team recognized that growth into this segment depended on delivering a more intuitive and engaging user experience.
The company’s goal was to revamp its platform quickly while maintaining powerful functionality for administrators. They needed design expertise that blended enterprise-level requirements with consumer-grade usability, ensuring the product could scale, support expansion, and stand out in a crowded software market.
Solution
Toptal designers reimagined WorkRamp’s platform through a rapid sprint, balancing enterprise functionality with consumer-grade usability.
CEO and co-founder Ted Blosser worked with Toptal to identify and seamlessly integrate the right design talent onto the team. The designer’s quick immersion in the project allowed them to quickly move from general design feedback to a full revamp of the platform.
In just three weeks, the Toptal designer revisited nearly every user interaction, delivering new style guidelines and redesigning workflows to improve administrator control and end-user engagement. His collaborative approach through Slack, Zoom, and Trello allowed the WorkRamp team to work faster and more efficiently, making the design sprint broader and more impactful than originally planned.
Outcome
The redesigned platform fueled rapid growth, attracted enterprise clients, and helped WorkRamp secure $2 million in funding.
With the new design in place, WorkRamp saw significant sales growth and brought on prominent enterprise customers, including PayPal, Intercom, and Zoom. The updated UX balanced functionality and simplicity, making the platform more attractive to both administrators and end users.
The design overhaul also strengthened investor confidence. Backed by new clients and a revitalized product, WorkRamp raised more than $2 million from investors such as Slack, Y Combinator, Alexis Ohanian, and Joe Montana. This positioned the company for continued expansion in the enterprise space.
