Alex Goncalves

I was one of five engineers working remotely to deliver an interactive map of instances of the use of force by police in the United States for this nonprofit. Operating in a full-stack capacity, I was responsible for improving the reactive performance of the map widget by 16% (measured by Chrome Lighthouse) by migrating from the React Context API to Redux state management.

A software that solves the traveling salesman problem for musicians.

As a co-founder of this college startup, I led both technical and sales efforts. Using Python to scrape venue information from Yelp, we delivered the highest quality of booking data to assist our clients in managing tours. Overall, we garnered over $10,000 in revenue, won numerous pitch competitions, and organized countless priceless experiences during our undergraduate years.

Cosgrove is a Documentation-as-a-Service platform that provides a developer-friendly experience for cataloging web applications. As a lead engineer for this project, I implemented infrastructure to facilitate this mission. My key contributions included the following:
• Creating a CI/CD pipeline to automate deployments with GitHub Actions
• Leveraging the BERT NLP model to provide text summarization
• Designing a Test-Driven-Development model to attain 100% line coverage and mitigate technical debt
