The most amazing...

...thing I have developed is a WebVR client for a large-scale remote positioning AR app that won the Community Vote Award at the first #SCAPEHACK in London.

  • Designed, prototyped, and developed a world editor/visual IDE for an open-source VR headset capable of booting to WebXR.
  • Created an online best-selling WebVR course with over 3,000 students enrolled and an average rating of 4.96 after 256 ratings (Jan 2020).
  • Created and developed WebVR content for a Univerity's MOOC platform which provides learning resources to thousands of students.
  • Designed and coded a WebVR experience that won the 3rd place in the Mozilla "WebVR Medieval Fantasy Experience Challenge” in 2018.
  • Ran on-site and online WebVR workshops based on hands-on activities for an average number of 15 attendees from different Universities.
  • Worked with WebVR developers to debug issues and implement features.

XRAD Remote Positioning

XRAD Remote Positioning is the first platform using WebVR in combination with AR for context-aware remote placement of any content on 3D maps and real-time visualization in the real world. I specifically worked on designing and coding the WebVR remote positioning client and editing the 3D model to ensure correct AR visualization.

This WebVR experience was designed to help teachers or mentors introduce newcomers to some basic WebVR concepts and features. I created the design concept and coded this MVP to promote Simbol, a social API for VR on the Web (currently, the Simbol project focuses on "Researching the Open Metaverse"). I also liaised with the lead developer to debug issues.

Epic Medieval Battle

My entry for the WebVR Experience Challenge 2018 organized by Mozilla and Sketchfab, which was one of the 3 winners achieving the 3rd place. Through a series of Agile sprints, user tests, and iterations, I worked on: designing the concept, choosing the right music for the experience, casting the characters of the two teams, selecting and assigning the animations in Mixamo, tweaking the animations to be in sync with the music, importing and organizing the animations in Blender, exporting the animated 3D models to glb format, coding the A-Frame scene using HTML, setting the 3D scene in the virtual environment, writing custom components using JavaScript, merging geometries in Blender to reduce draw calls, decimating faces and vertices in Blender to improve FPS, styling the splash, the credits, and the thank you pages using CSS.
