Power App to Automate Invoice Processing

A Power Apps canvas app that uses AI to scan invoices, eliminating the manual process of typing in values and fields into the finance application.

I created an AI model that handles all recurring bills received monthly, auto-imports the relevant fields, and passes them onto accounting for processing. I also included an email approval process based on the invoice amount that automates the approval process using Power Automate. The accounting department had five people to handle invoices; after our automation, they only needed one person to handle all invoices within half the time it used to take.

Automated Peer Review Process for the USDA

https://usda-ars-osqr.powerappsportals.us/
Completely automated a manual process that previously used a combination of Microsoft Access, SharePoint, and Word.

I built an automated system with the Canvas app in Power Apps, and the review forms are surfaced to external peers through a Power Pages portal. The result was an automatically generated Word document they could review live on the call with peers.

This met the desired outcome—reducing the teams' work time from days to minutes. I created a SharePoint site to document the entire app process and to provide training on the application developed.

Waste Innovations Sales Tool in Power Apps

https://www.win-waste.com/
A complete Power Apps solution to replace a non-secure, Excel-based sales tool for the organization.

Waste Innovations' sales tool was written in Excel. This application contained all the calculations used to determine the cost of their services to customers. This put the organization at high risk because its entire business model was defined by a non-secure application that could easily be taken outside the company.

I replaced the Excel tool with a complete Power Apps solution, moving all propriety calculations to the back-end Dataverse database.

We streamlined the front end and introduced location services to auto-calculate the distances from dump sites to the client's location used in fees. This minimized the many calculations that salespeople had to do on-site. The new application eliminated the client's risk factors and simplified their manual process, making their sales teams' jobs easier. The company also looked more professional as the application was expertly designed to use the company's new branding, colors, and look. My degree in design absolutely paid off on this application, as it looked amazing.

Power Pages Search for AbilityOne

https://www.abilityone.gov/index.html
Developed a Power Pages search page to replace the current search pages on the AbilityOne HTML site.

The site has complex HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I had to match the existing HTML site perfectly, pixel by pixel. The CSS classes did not work in Power Pages as advertised, so every element of the entire page had to be manually copied line for line matching the HTML, CSS, graphics, and everything else perfectly. I learned many workarounds in Power Pages to overcome the inability to load the CSS libraries into Power Pages. Mapping the images was also a tough one to figure out. Ultimately, I developed the page to match the site identically per the customer's specific demands.
