Maurice Miro

While working at the University of Michigan as a research assistant, I gained exposure to mechatronics systems. I led the redesigning of the first open-source robotic leg and developed an impedance-based walking controller using biological data and engineering modeling to control the robotic leg's knee and ankle joints.

My master's curriculum included multiple hands-on projects in system identification, designing and controlling electromechanical systems, and applying sensor technology to design smart systems. My projects also included working with data acquisition systems, sensor networks, and field deployments using internet-connected devices and real-time data streaming. Other school projects included processing, analyzing, and filtering data collected by sensors.
