Project History
  • World-Check Global Load Balancing
    Led mutli-disciplined, global team to migrate business critical, always on SaaS to globally load balanced infrastructure.

    Over the course of 9 months, I engaged with developers, system architects, and consultants to design and deploy a new hosting infrastructure for World-Check, the leading Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer Database. The infrastructure was rebuilt, including all hardware, OS, and databases. The system was migrated from a Disaster Recovery mode to a hot-hot-hot globally load balanced system. Migration was completed with zero downtime or negative client impact.

  • Relaunch Geopolitical Risk Ranking System
    Let product design and product management of a complete system redesign for a geopolitical risk-ranking system.

    The company had a product on the market that provided a risk ranking of all countries and jurisdictions globally. The product had never sold well. As one of the product under my portfolio, I being a complete redesign of the user experience and go to market strategy. The existing product had strong "bones", but the interface was difficult to understand and focused too much on "us" and not enough on the client and their needs.

    After a UX redesign, including the removal of complex, unnecessary features, the product was relaunched. First year revenue after the re-launch exceeded the previous 5 years combined.

  • Network Switch with Integrated Cable Termination Locations

    A network switch that can directly receive and connect to telecommunications cables includes: a body; a first panel mounted to the body; a first plurality of ports located in the first panel, each of the first plurality of ports configured to receive a telecommunications cable; a second panel mounted to the body; a second plurality of ports located in the second panel, each of the second plurality of ports configured to receive a patch cord; and electronic circuitry housed in the body for conducting network switching operations, the electronic circuitry being connected with the first plurality of ports and the second plurality of ports. Such a network switch can receive a cable directly, rather than requiring an intermediate patch panel, and therefore can simplify either an interconnect or a cross-connect telecommunications system.

  • Dynamic Labeling of Patch Panel Ports
    US Patent 8,643,476

    A patch panel for a communications patching system includes a plurality of connector ports. Each connector port is configured to detect insertion and removal of a patch cord. A controller is electrically coupled to the connector ports and monitors patch cord interconnections. An electronic display is positioned adjacent to the connector ports and displays port identification information and real-time patch cord connection information for each respective connector port. The displayed patch cord connection information is dynamically updated by the controller as a patch cord is inserted or removed from a respective connector port.
