Sonder is a modern hospitality company that revolutionizes traditional hotel experiences by incorporating a digital front desk through its mobile app. Under my engineering leadership, this app has achieved a Top 200 ranking among Travel Apps in the App Store and has been used by over 500,000 users.

A key achievement was leading the development of the guest-to-customer agent messaging platform. This involved creating both the guest and customer agent experience. I also contributed to other features in the mobile app, including a calendar screen for modifying reservation dates, a comprehensive redesign of the "My Stay" screen, and a mobile keys feature.

This project was a proof of concept that explored the potential for a DNA Sequencer to be controlled by an iPad app. The iPad app was designed to offer real-time status updates for a fleet of DNA sequencers, the ability to initiate and halt sequencing runs, and the ability to display the machine's operational status.

My responsibilities included conducting user research, crafting workflow diagrams, and creating mockups and interactive prototypes. After the research and discovery phase, I illustrated high-fidelity mockups and motion design prototypes.

My contributions to this proof of concept eventually led to my recognition as a listed inventor for a design patent (USD810112S1).

The NovaSeq was a high-throughput DNA sequencer and a pivotal project during my tenure at Illumina. Collaborating closely with a team of software engineers and biotechnologists, I assumed crucial roles as the UX designer, user researcher, and product designer.

My primary responsibilities were centered around the initial stages of the NovaSeq platform's development, encompassing the conceptualization and wireframing of the initial screens. These wireframes underwent rigorous testing through multiple rounds of usability assessments, with each iteration incorporating valuable user feedback to refine the design further.

After completing the research phase, I collaborated with another product designer to craft the user interface, ensuring alignment with Illumina's brand language and a seamless transition from wireframes to the polished final design. My contributions to the NovaSeq platform ultimately led to my recognition as a listed inventor for a design patent (USD965626S1).
