Graphic Designer Job Description Template
Graphic designers are responsible for using design elements like text, illustrations, photos, and colors to create visually pleasing compositions that clearly convey a message. In addition to a strong grasp of digital design tools like Adobe Illustrator, graphic designers should be able to generate creative concepts, interpret constructive criticism, and work collaboratively with other design disciplines.
Trusted by leading brands and startups
The field of graphic design is rapidly evolving to keep pace with our changing digital landscape. For decades, graphic designers helped businesses communicate the value of their goods and services by creating print deliverables like magazine advertisements and product packaging. Today, graphic designers are visual communicators, but the messages they convey are no longer bound to traditional print mediums.
With the majority of our daily interactions and information gathering occurring in digital environments, graphic designers must be able to apply their knowledge of visual design principles to a wide range of digital products (apps, websites, SaaS platforms, etc.). Likewise, graphic designers should possess a working knowledge of diverse design disciplines like visual identity design, user experience design, and user interface design.
When hiring graphic designers, it’s important to understand that some candidates will be skilled at creating print designs while others will excel at producing deliverables for digital content. Before interviewing graphic designers, you should understand what the primary design needs of your business are (print, digital, both).
