About Toptal

Toptal is a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology that enables companies to scale their teams, on-demand. With $200+ million in annual revenue and team members based around the globe, Toptal is the world’s largest fully remote workforce.

We take the best elements of virtual teams and combine them with a support structure that encourages innovation, social interaction, and fun. We see no borders, move at a fast pace, and are never afraid to break the mold.

Job Summary:

HireGlobal by Toptal makes it simple and cost-effective for US companies to hire, pay, and manage global talent. HireGlobal is a new business within Toptal, so this is an exciting opportunity to build something new with access to resources and know-how from our core platform. HireGlobal’s Senior Product Manager will be one of the key players driving progress and scaling the business, working closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Design to deliver scalable solutions for clients and workers worldwide. We take a data-driven and customer-first approach to ensure our roadmap delivers measurable business impact and a best-in-class user experience.

We’re looking for a self-starting Senior Product Manager to lead and drive progress across the board: from expanding and refining HireGlobal’s product offering, to supporting go-to-market efforts, to building out our internal tech stack to operate efficiently and effectively. Billing and payments experience will be critical to owning and scaling our product. You will partner closely with the GM to set the vision, prioritize the roadmap, and deliver high-impact outcomes.

This is a remote position. We do not offer visa sponsorship or assistance. Resumes and communication must be submitted in English.

  • Define the scope of new product features and ongoing improvements across web and desktop applications.
  • Write and prioritize user stories and define acceptance criteria.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of credibility with internal and external partners, including the Finance, Legal, Support, and Sales teams.
  • Break down complex problems and use data and analytics, combined with high-quality user research, to inform product direction.
  • Track progress, assess risks, coordinate delivery, and actively communicate contingency and mitigation plans for the team.
  • Run various ad-hoc research and business analyses to assess opportunities and risks.
  • Take ownership of identifying and solving complex product challenges that align with both short-term goals and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Apply system-analyst techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications.

In the first week, expect to:

  • Onboard and integrate into Toptal while independently starting to study and learn the Toptal product suite.
  • Become acquainted with your product area, the product goals, and those you will partner with.

In the first month, expect to:

  • Work cross-functionally with Designers, Engineers and senior stakeholders to organize and prioritize your high-level roadmap and backlog.
  • Start collaborating closely with your development team.
  • Take over all in-flight and planned initiatives.

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Fully support HireGlobal’s product, working collaboratively to complete quarterly planning.
  • While exercising discretion and independent judgment, launch features that deliver high business impact.
  • Be fully embedded into and own a development team.
  • Monitor and measure the success of your initiatives against company goals.
  • Continuously improve the team’s processes through meaningful contributions.

In the first six months, expect to:

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of the product, ensuring feature parity, high-quality user experience, and alignment with the overall strategy.
  • Independently discover new product opportunities for your backlog.
  • Develop a repeatable model for delivering upon our roadmap initiatives.
  • Constantly re-evaluate your roadmap’s alignment with the strategic goals of the business, adjusting where necessary.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in fintech, payments, or billing systems.
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling payment-related products (e.g., billing, payroll, invoicing, FX, reconciliation).
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally with exposure to HR tech, payments, or compliance-heavy products.
  • Track record of leading products end-to-end from discovery to launch and iteration.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable using SQL or spreadsheets to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience working with third-party system integrations.
  • Strong expertise in using data to make decisions with a variety of tools and methodologies to gather and synthesize information.
  • Ability to creatively craft solutions through data and a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to build wireframes and mockups in collaboration with Design, with an aptitude for keeping things simple and clear.
  • Be meticulous and have a high bar for quality when writing user stories, reviewing designs, brainstorming technical approaches, and testing a feature before it is released.
  • Be humble, willing to learn, and do whatever is needed to help us accomplish our goals.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
